I am just getting grips on the first of these now but I wanted to get 'em up before Christmas. The Mytuko Cobalt is the same size as the recent Mytuko Major Prototypes, with a couple of important differences:
• The Mytuko Cobalt is machine ground with a full flat grind on both sides.
• The Mytuko Cobalt is crafted from 3mm 1.4528 Cobalt alloyed Stainless @ HRC58 (same alloy as Böhler N690)
Each Mytuko Cobalt is ground to a thin edge before sharpening for excellent cutting performance and is very lightweight coming in at only 140 grams with Linen Micarta grips as pictured.
These knives are an ideal companion for hikers and campers and will also give great performance at home even if they never leave the kitchen. The Cobalt alloyed steel offers excellent rust resistance with superior edge holding while not being too difficult to resharpen.
The first few knives have black Linen Micarta grips as shown. I expect I will come up with some other grip variations too.
